After 5 years of building software to help social workers support children at Koinonia Family Services, I am ready for a new adventure! It’s been wonderful growing together with the team there through leadership changes, shifts in the field, and evolving technology. My head and heart have been aligned with the mission, and it’s been so fulfilling to serve something bigger than myself.

Working on back-end, database systems, and AI engineering has been amazing after years of focusing more on front-end mobile web and teaching. Maintaining a big legacy system with hundreds of thousands of lines of code to stay compliant with ever-changing regulations is an enormous responsibility! I’ll be gradually transitioning over the coming months and then taking time over the holidays to recharge before the new year.

In the forest

I’d love to find a new role that puts my engineering background to work in climate tech, social services, or education. I have been migrating north from Santa Barbara to Humboldt, and am considering continuing further to the PNW, but ultimately I want to land where I can be most useful. I’m also exploring residential meditation retreats and ecovillages for more permaculture experience along the way. I am truly grateful for the privilege of pausing, and will be working hard to find the right fit.

In the meantime, I spruced up the website with the email list subscription at the bottom of each page if you are interested in having posts delivered to your inbox. If you know of something that lines up with any of this, I’d genuinely love to hear about it, even if it’s months out. Please reach out, keep in touch, and follow along here as the next step becomes more clear :)
